Valient Thorr tour update 2/1/11

This blog has had its taste of some skateboarding, some travel experiences, and some comedy, but know its time for some much needed rock n roll. New Zealand

So some of you may know, I spent my semester break in New Zealand. Now Im gona keep this post pretty short, however I do have to say that New Zealand is one of the raddest places I have ever seen, and I traveled a bit. The scenery is amazing, but the kicker is that that the people are just as SWEET AS the scenery. (Sweet As is a NZ saying for those of you have never heard and yess I am proud of my play on words) With that said just to give you a glimpse of what my experience was like please enjoy this video of me jumping off a cliff!

These next two weeks are going to suck!

Well, as some of you may know, one of our contributors Nick is currently living in Melbourne, Australia while he is studying abroad. it suddenly came to me several weeks ago that i live a pretty boring life, i do the 9-5 work thing and am taking classes full time, other than maybe one or two nights out of the week i hardly have any real fun. So it was then i decided i need to live my life more spontaneously and enjoy it (my psychologist would be proud). So it was maybe a week ago i decided F it whats one of the random-est things i can do in such a short period of time that would be the most epic that i probably would never do again...and it dawned upon me gotta go to Australia and visit Nick. So after hitting him up on facebook and email me he was totally down, couple days later finalized dates and booked my tickets, so in less than two weeks i will be on my way down under. You only live once and you never know what curve balls will be thrown your way, so like Confucius always (or maybe its Kenny Powers) " Let's Butt-fuck this party!" So keep posted as i will be bringing my camera with me and be taking photos and some videos! until then enjoy this little skate video...

So being that I consider my stay in Australia an extended 4 month road trip, it is only appropriate that I take the advice of this blog. So while at Chadstone mall, Australia's largest shopping center, guess what I come across? You betcha a bonsai tree stand. If this baby doesn't set the mood for the ladies in my room, I'm not sure what will.

The next set of photos are just a couple things I have picked up along the way. The first one is what has quickly become my favorite Ozzie beer. Like Budweiser in America, Carlton Draught is all over the place here. Its relatively cheap (being that an average sixer here will run you about 15 bucks, yea that's killing the old bank account!), but more importantly its delicious and dependable just like the true king of beers. And for obvious reasons I think it is also hysterically ironic that its named Carlton. Next is a photo of me and my two roommates, Carl's cousin and Ryan Mathews. Then the last few photos are just some cool picks I have taken around Melbourne.

And finally I need to post some of the random shit that has been crossing my mind lately. I need to give a shout out to Big Lex for this one. Living with him for a year was awesome, and he has made a ton of great calls. But more than anything else, Big Lex knows his hard alcohol and his hip-hop. He has always told me for the price and quality there is no better whiskey than Jim Bean. And living where booze is expensive I have personally found this to be true. Give it a whirl, he'll treat ya right. Next on the hip-hop side of things, If you haven't heard of him, you will soon. J.Cole is the shit. Paven I feel like you would dig it. Check him out.
